If you can't pick-up during kit pick-up times please arrange for a friend or family member to pick-up for you. Out of towners can email Mitchell@TRYEVENTS.ca to make arrangements.

TOP 3 Male & Female Medals
Medals for over all top 3 male & female in Half Marathon, 10K & 5K. You must be at awards to claim!
Once you cross the start line, your name will be entered into a random draw prize listing. A computer generates a random list of names and draw prizes are then given out to these participants at the finish line, right after your chip is removed. Please visit the table next to the finish line to check if you won one of our numerous draw prizes!

Parking is limited for all events so please arrive early!
Please be respectful of the driveways and roads for local residents.

Carpooling is highly encouraged.

Without a timing tag you will not be included in the results!
Return timing tag after your race to avoid being charged $40
Only registered participants are allowed on course. If you can’t afford to register please do not steal this experience from others and put us at risk.

TRY EVENTS bought this race from Runners of Compassion, Nanaimo back in late spring / early summer of 2008 with hopes of saving this great race from being cancelled. The 2008 & 2009 Harbour City Half was held on the same weekend and tried to follow the same template of previous years on a skelton registration fee budget which turned out to be impossible! I need your help to save this event from walking the plank!

The CHEK NEWS Harbour City Half Marathon needs your support and the support from the community to break out of it's 5 years of decreasing participation! This is a great annual health minded charity race that has loads of potential and will grow as a tourist destination race for hundreds of walkers and runners! The 2010 Harbour City Half Marathon will be held on the Sunday of the long weekend of September, Sunday September 5th. The race is adopting a brand new theme which holds some very interesting history for Nanaimo. The theme as you can see from the above logo is a "PIRATE" theme and all finishers of the race will receive a souvenir coin / finishers medal from the Harbour City Half treasure chest after they cross the finish line.

The new start/finish of the race is in Maffeo Sutton Park which gives us the perfect venue for Canada's largest PIRATE PARTY!
Finishers will be greeted with after event refreshments and music!

Our goal as a community is the make the 2010 CHEK NEWS Harbour City Half Marathon the most successful year yet!

85% of the half marathon route travels along the EN & Park Way trails. This is a wide paved "trail" and particiapnts are asked to stay to the right unless you are passing someone.
